The proposed tube strike in London will badly affect the city’s cafes and restaurants as well as temps, according to hospitality recruiters.

Alan Hogg, director at Kerry Robert, told Recruiter that the strike, due to take place between Tuesday and Thursday next week, would mean that a lot of assignments could now be missed.

“It is a shame. Temps rely on public transport. It costs recruiters and businesses an awful lot of money.

Gary King, director at Collins King & Associates, adds: “It is frustrating. Candidates can’t get around for interviews. A lot of people don’t go into work. The economy is in enough of a mess without this.

“People cancel reservations. Meetings get cancelled. People are striking for a reason but it is a very bad time to do it.”
