Employers look to temporary workers to fill vacancies

Employers are increasingly looking to temporary workers rather than permanent staff to fill vacancies.

The number of vacant permanent posts rose at its slowest rate for five years, according to the survey commissioned by trade body the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) and professional services firm KPMG.

In contrast, vacant temporary posts surged at their fastest rate for five years.
