Teacher recruitment advert banned for being misleading
A television advert claiming that teachers could earn £34,000 per year has been banned by the advertising watchdog.
The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) called the Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA) advert "misleading" as it suggested that £34,000 was the salary for a newly qualified teacher (NQT).
The advert showed a teacher with a "very youthful appearance" while a voiceover claimed: "You could earn 34 grand a year".
