This summer’s wedding season is still going ahead but on a smaller scale, according to recruiters.
Brian Dunne, managing director at a hospitality recruiter Action Solutions, told Recruiter: “The events are still taking place. By this I mean domestic events. Weddings are taking place. There is a lightening of spend at weddings, so maybe there won’t be as much on flowers and the wedding meal will be more basic, but they are still going ahead.”
Hannah Horler, managing director at Cartwheel Recruitment, who recruits catering managers, adds: “This year, there is quite a lot of business that has not seen an impact. People book weddings in advance years in advance. They are probably seeing an impact in numbers, in that numbers are slightly down. People are inviting 50 people rather than 60 or 70 people.
