The Australian market for UK recruiters is not dead - despite reports that many British recruiters working there on employer-sponsored visas have had to leave after losing their jobs because of the global economic downturn (recruiter.co.uk, 17 July and shortlist.net.au).

Paul Hart, general manager of international rec-to-rec firm Live the Dream, told Recruiter: “It’s far from dead. But our key clients there are looking for the crème de la crème; the top 5% of billers”.

Hart said LTD still had live vacancies in Australia and was happy to hear from high-achieving recruiters seeking new jobs there.
