Softcat on recruitment drive
IT solutions firm Softcat is seeking 120 new recruits to fill sales and technical positions in its public sector team.
IT solutions firm Softcat is seeking 120 new recruits to fill sales and technical positions in its public sector team.
A Softcat spokesperson told Recruiter that Softcat’s objective for the year from August 2010 to July 2011 had been to hire 100 new people to work in all three of its offices in Marlow, London and Manchester but it is now likely that the number for this year will be closer to 120.
The news comes as Softcat reports increased profits for H1. The results hint at new growth in the IT sector amid post-recession doom and gloom.
Softcat managing director, Martin Hellawell, says: “Softcat achieved £146m turnover last year, and £200m might just be possible by the end of the company’s financial year in August 2011.
“To support this rapid growth, in the last year alone the company has had to grow its headcount by approximately 20%, to nearly 300. It has set up a new office in Moorgate, London, to attract talented employees, and has continued to expand its new Manchester office and its Marlow headquarters.”
