Service sector slumps

The Purchasing Managers’ Index for the UK services sector fell to 55.3 in April from 56.5 in March, according to data from Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.

While above the 50.0 mark that implies expansion of the sector, this marks the second consecutive fall on this index, which stood at 58.4 in February.
