September saw the number of permanent vacancies fall across a number of sectors ranging from accountancy to legal to IT, according to recruitment giant Adecco’s latest job watch.

The job watch reveals job numbers fell from 3,580 in August to 3,490 in IT, from 20,450 to 20,225 in accountancy, from 10,612 to 10,550 in banking, finance and insurance.

Meanwhile, job numbers also fell away from August to September in engineering & construction (22,654 to 22,520), legal (11,976 to 11,820), public sector (5,107 to 5,012) and in IT (13,973 to 13,940).
