Scouts launch entrepreneur badge

The recruitment industry is renowned for encouraging entrepreneurs to grasp the nettle and set up on their own.

The recruitment industry is renowned for encouraging entrepreneurs to grasp the nettle and set up on their own. Well it seems that the UK’s next generation of entrepreneurs may come from the Scouts movement with their launch of an entrepreneur badge.

The Scout Association (TSA) in partnership with Homeserve, a provider of home emergency and insurance products, has announced a new Entrepreneurial Awards scheme for its youth members to work towards.

To be awarded, scouts will need to demonstrate a mind for business and will take part in structured exercises based around entrepreneurial skills and make a short business proposal.

Tasks will aim to develop attributes such as self-confidence and teamwork, while for the proposal section, scouts will present a business pitch to a panel of people from local commerce.

If any of Recruiter’s readers see a scout coming out of a business meeting at their client’s offices, do get in touch and let us know.
