Scouts make better employees, a survey of over 2,500 Scouts, former scouts and external organisations to mark Scout Community Week has shown.

41% of employers surveyed agreed that scouting is a positive influence on firm’s decisions to employ.

 
89% of those currently involved in scouting said that it has helped them build social skills, teamwork and leadership with 60% of organisations responding to the survey agreeing that this made scouts better than average employees.


Steffi Place, a scout aged 14 from Milton Keynes, who helped in the construction of the garden at Milton Keynes hospital says:
 
“I can’t wait to get involved in Scout Community Week. I really felt like I was making a difference in helping build a garden for my local hospital. It’s also really great to put the voluntary work down on my CV.”

Recruiter was unable to confirm reports that an ‘AWR Awareness’ badge is soon to be available.
