Scottish private sector employment grows in June

Employment in Scotland’s private sector continued to grow in June, albeit at a slower pace, according to a report from the Bank of Scotland/Markit.

The data shows that while private sector employment rose for a fifth successive month, the latest rise in headcounts was only fractional, down from 51.4 in May to 50.5 in June.

Meanwhile, the report also points to growth of activity picking up in both the services and manufacturing sectors since May, the headline seasonally adjusted Bank of Scotland PMI climbed to 53.3 from 52.2 in May.
