René Schuster stands down as chief executive of Adecco UK

René Schuster is standing down as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Adecco UK with immediate effect.

Dieter Scheiff, Adecco Group’s global CEO, said: “We are pleased to confirm that a new country manager, UK & Ireland, Catherine King, has been appointed to replace René.

Catherine will take up her new role with Adecco on 1st August 2008.”

“René has been instrumental in guiding Adecco UK through a period of change and we wish him all the best as he departs to pursue other opportunities.”

Schuster joined Adecco Group as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the UK and Ireland in October 2006. He moved from Vodafone where he was global director for enterprise businesses. Prior to this he was senior vice president and general manager of Hewlett-Packard, and CEO of Compaq UK and Ireland, before an earlier career with KPMG.

More detail will be announced when Adecco’s second quarter financial results are announced on 12 August.
