Financial recruiter Robert Half has revealed its five hottest finance jobs.

The top five jobs are:

Financial accountant: this role combines financial reporting with commercial skills as well as a need to be more strategic and central to organisational control and effectiveness.

Financial planning & analysis manager: forecasting and budgeting skills and decision support and performance management are essential functions of this role.

Assistant accountant: The demand for transactional support means that, at part-qualified level, this role is increasingly important, especially to smaller businesses who see these skills as core to their development as they look ahead.

Cost accountant or financial analyst: individuals that can manage budgets and cost-related processes thus contributing to the bottom line by reducing inefficiencies and enhancing profitability are in demand.

Compliance manager or risk manager: the increasing importance of corporate governance and compliance has grown in significance, given the origins, nature and impact of the economic downturn.

Clive Davis, director Robert Half UK, says: “As we move into a recovery period, the need for expert accounting and finance professionals to help companies navigate through this economic climate is critical. Rather than opening up the floodgates, employers are formulating recruitment strategies that will include hiring into positions that will establish appropriate staffing levels within their business.”
