Rise in vacancies in March

The UK saw a 22.7% rise in the number of new job openings in March, according to research from job search engine SimplyHired.co.uk.

The UK saw a 22.7% rise in the number of new job openings in March, according to research from job search engine SimplyHired.co.uk.

Aberdeen saw an increase of 30.8%, while Gloucester experienced a 99% increase in job creation.

Gautam Godhwani, chief executive of SimplyHired.co.uk, says: “Despite widespread cuts across the public sector, the commercial sector has experienced significant job creation.

“With marked improvement in the number of open jobs across the UK, recently redundant public sector employees have the opportunity to apply their transferable skills to roles in the private sector.”
