Recruitment increases in Middle East

More than half of the Middle East and North Africa’s employers plan to recruit over the next three months, according to a survey by regional job site Bayt.com and pollster YouGov Siraj.

More than half of the Middle East and North Africa’s employers plan to recruit over the next three months, according to a survey by regional job site Bayt.com and pollster YouGov Siraj.

Around the Middle East and North Africa region, countries reported varying propensity to hire, according to a press release from the survey partners. More than a third of respondents, or 34%, in Oman said they would definitely be hiring in the next three months. Followed by Saudi Arabia at 31% and Lebanon at 30%, employers in those countries said their organisations would definitely be recruiting new staff in the coming months.

In the Gulf region, 53% of employers in Kuwait said they would definitely or probably hire in the coming three months, followed by 48% in the United Arab Emirates and 47% in Bahrain.

The survey also found that good communication skills in English and Arabic were clearly advantageous among the region’s organisations when selecting a new employee, with 60% reporting that these skills were most desirable when choosing potential candidates.
