Recruiters slow to see benefits of AWR software

With just over a week to go, many recruiters still haven’t set up a technological infrastructure to handle the Agency Workers Regulations (AWR).

David Baldwin, managing director of Working Pulse, which develops the eZworkforce software platform that helps recruiters better manage AWR, told Recruiter that many companies still seem to think they can leave everything until December, which is when the first qualifying periods kick in: “Some companies also appear content to see what others in the industry are doing before acting themselves.”

He added that some recruiters are requesting a stand-alone solution that they can use with their existing paperor spreadsheet-based processes or legacy systems, which he believes will make AWR harder to manage as clients and personnel increase. “They don’t realise the actual cost and complexity of processing AWR or the real cost of their current processes,” he said. “It is far better to implement a complete solution to automate [processes], which should leave you able to concentrate on planning.”
