The results of elections for corporate and individual directors’ seats on the Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) Council were revealed today at the REC’s Annual General Meeting in London.

Winning corporate directors’ seats and the number of votes received were:

• Jeff Brooks, PrimeSourcing, 98

• Theresa Swann, Swann Recruitment,75

• Neil Smith, Kinetic, 75

• Peter Searle, Adecco, 70

• Di Bradbury, Huntress Search, 68

• James Berrisford, Berrisford Recruitment Search Consultancy, 48

Berrisford, who stood for both corporate and individual seats, was elected to both. However, he has chosen to accept the corporate role. According to the REC, 203 votes were cast for the corporate directors, representing a 5.8% turnout.

For individual directors, a total of 401 votes were cast, representing an 8.1% turnout. The winners of individual directors’ seats on the Council were:

• Richard Toy, BlueSky Solutions, 164

• Louise McCarthy-Teague, Meridian Business Solutions, 160

• Greg Latham, Encore Personnel Services, 149

• James Berrisford, 147

• Philip Higgins, Rullion Engineering Personnel, 144

As the candidate with the next highest amount of votes in the individual director category, Mike Cooper of The Best Connection Group will fill the vacancy left by Berrisford’s decision to accept the corporate role. He received 122 votes.

Six of the 11 winners have not previously served on the Council.
