Queen of the City Vallely launches job board
Founder of women’s networking site We Are The City, City businesswoman and entrepreneur Vanessa Vallely (pictured left) is launching a new job board on 1 October.
Careers City, aimed at increasing the visibility of job opportunities for women, will look to “level the playing field and stop haemorrhaging women from the workforce”, according to Vallely.
She says: “I truly believe that Careers City can help to build the next generation of female talent and help encourage women back into the workforce. I have a voice to over 80,000 women across the City and wider through WeAreTheCity.com.
“I want to use our voice and extend it further in to the female community to promote the abundance of career opportunities and various flexible working options that are now on offer from corporate firms.”
More than 45 corporate firms and recruitment agencies have already signed up to place their vacancies on the job board before the launch of Careers City on 1 October. The official launch party will be on 8 November at The Hoxton Apprentice in the City of London, a restaurant venture that ploughs back all profits into re-training the long-term unemployed in Hackney, where Vallely grew up.
Vallely is a fourth-generation Pearly Queen, who was crowned Pearly Queen of the City of London earlier this year.
