Most public sector organisations (54%) think spending cuts announced in last month’s comprehensive spending review will see headcount fall in their department, according to research from public sector recruiter Capita Interim Management.

The research also shows that 16% think that the changes are definitely likely to result in interim requirements, while 19% saw this as highly likely, and 27% possibly.

Almost a quarter (24%) thought the cuts would definitely increase the chances of key functions/services being outsourced, while 16% saw this as highly likely, 28% possibly and 24% not at all.

Meanwhile 20% said the cuts would definitely encourage them to use private sector interims, while 16% saw this as highly likely, and 31% not at all.
