The public sector & government and logistics, distribution & supply chain industries were among the top five sectors for vacancy growth of both permanent and temporary roles in the summer months.

This is according to broker ICAP’s UK Labour Market Indices derived from jobs posted on various sites belonging to digital recruitment group Evenbase, which includes Jobsite, Jobrapido and Broadbean.

In June, July and August compared to the previous three months, public sector & government saw permanent jobs advertised rise by 28%, and temp roles up by 17%. Logistics, distribution & supply chain ads rose 7% and 31% respectively.

These are the only sectors featuring on both lists. Medical & nursing again showed strong permanent growth – the highest of any sector this month, at 42% – while temp roles shrunk.

Sales and automotive jobs both declined in both temporary and permanent categories.
