Profits surge 176% at Penna

Recruitment services company Penna has recorded a big increase in profits.  Pre-tax profits for the year ending 31 March 2009 were £6m compared with £2.2m for 2008.

Recruitment services company Penna has recorded a big increase in profits.  Pre-tax profits for the year ending 31 March 2009 were £6m compared with £2.2m for 2008.

Revenue rose to £63.2m compared to £48.6m in 2008.

The company says that its operating margin more than doubled from 4.5% to 9.3%, and that it held £8.9m in cash at the year end.

In a statement, the company says: “We are pleased that all of our business streams, resourcing, career transition and consulting are growing profitably. This demonstrates the strength and breadth of the company’s portfolio of businesses.

“The new financial year has started well and we have a high level of work in progress. We expect to achieve continuing growth and intend to maintain a progressive dividend policy.”
