Premier Inn sees ‘overwhelming’ response from UK workers wishing to relocate to new Indian hotel

There has been an “overwhelming” response from UK Premier Inn employees looking to work at the international hotel chain’s new Delhi location, according to Jaspreet Khurana, Premier Inn human resources director in India.

Premier Inn is set to create around 50 new jobs initially through the opening of a new hotel in Delhi, India. The move follows the opening of its first hotel in the country in India’s garden city of Bangalore earlier this year.

Khurana told Recruiter that the international hotel chain is set to hold a recruitment fair and begin advertising roles in September with a view to filling posts, from management level to team member level by November.

“The response from Whitbread people in the UK who want to come and work in India is overwhelming We will be recruiting between 45-50 people initially. We have already recruited three people from the UK including general manager and two team leaders. The Indian government wants to give opportunities to people in India. We are only looking to the UK for specific positions, where they can implement the Whitbread ways of working and its culture and values.”
