Around 70 unemployed people later today are expected to attend a Stoke-on-Trent event in the hope of finding jobs on offer by a variety of employers.
The event, organised by Pertemps People Development Group (PPDG) at its Burslem centre, the first staged since PPDG secured the contract to deliver the government’s Welfare to Work strategy across Staffordshire through the new Flexible New Deal.
The event will give jobseekers the opportunity to meet potential employers such as Dunelm Mill and the British Army, and agencies including Top Gear Recruitment, Exclusive Contract Services, Yes Recruitment, Gap Personnel, and TRS, which recruits warehouse staff to work at Pets at Home.
PPDG regional operations director Kate Darcy says: “For our customers this event is a golden opportunity to meet employers and recruitment agencies, and possibly secure a job or take important steps towards gaining employment.”
