International technology recruiter specialist NetworkersMSB is to significantly increase its presence in Sub-Saharan Africa to take advantage of the current huge expansion in the region’s telecoms and power infrastructure.
NetworkersMSB’s former head of global development, Simon Hill, has been appointed head of recruitment services, Sub-Sahara and will oversee the expansion of the company’s business across the continent including Uganda, Tanzania and Nigeria from Cape Town.
Hill says: “South Africa is set to become a hot-spot for energy jobs. The government has set a target of generating 15% of its energy needs from renewable sources by 2014 and the recent release of attractive renewable energy feed-in tariffs by the country’s energy regulator has lead several global energy companies to consider wind energy investments alongside their current operations.
“When this happens there will be a huge demand for project developers, engineers and project managers and many of them will come from the UK and Northern Europe where these industries are more mature.”
