The outlook for Morson’s trading remains positive, according to Gerry Mason, the engineering recruiter’s chairman.

At the group’s AGM this morning, Mason said: “As we stated at the time of our preliminary results announced on 31 March 2009, trading throughout the group in the financial year to date is in line with the board’s expectations.

“Although a number of economic indicators remain uncertain, we believe the outlook for Morson remains positive as the group benefits from the public and private sectors’ need for maintained, new and upgraded infrastructure both in the UK and overseas.

“Many of our significant markets such as nuclear, rail and defence design hold opportunities via committed current and future major projects. We look forward to the current year with confidence.”
