Mobile consumers’ expectations are not being met, according to a survey published by technology performance company Compuware Corporation.

’What Users Want from Mobile’, which surveyed more than 4,000 users worldwide, found that the experience is slow or unreliable, with 54% of UK users reporting they had a problem accessing a website on their mobile and 40% when accessing an app.

Mobile users have little patience for retrying an app or website, with 29% of UK users going to a competitor’s site instead. Mobile recruitment is a reality, but Dave Martin, head of product and mobile strategy at career social network BraveNewTalent, told Recruiter that most companies, recruitment agencies and job boards were failing to support mobile internet adequately.

“We could discuss exposure via iPhone and Android apps, but online recruitment needs to start at the beginning of the journey, which is to optimise your website for mobile use.”
