Sarah Fisher is Microsoft’s new HR director

Sarah Fisher has been appointed HR director at Microsoft UK.

Fisher will take charge of driving forward the firm’s ‘people strategy’ as well as focusing on an ongoing commitment to effective recruitment and retention.

Fisher has previously worked at Toyota as director of HR and environmental strategy. Fisher also managed Toyota’s customer relations department and was responsible for its external customer satisfaction strategy.

On her appointment, Fisher said: “Microsoft is ahead of the curve on many aspects of its human resources policy, particularly in the way the company manages talent and places such emphasis on individual career and personal development. The chance to help build on and shape this moving forward made this role an extremely attractive opportunity for me.”

Previous HR director David Gartenberg has returned to the US to take up another role within the company.
