Capital’s salaries are £11,000 higher than UK average

Monthly salaries in London are, on average, £11,000 higher than the rest of the UK.

Its July monthly salary index reveals that outside London people can expect an average advertised salary of £30,450.
But people applying for jobs in the capital will see an average advertised salary of £41,079.

Those in the North-West have the lowest average advertised salary at just £28,641.

Dave Martin, managing director of AllTheTopBananas.com, said: “In the nine months we have been publishing this salary index, we have seen a growing gap between advertised London salaries and the rest of the country.
“East Anglian salaries, (the highest in the rest of the UK) are still a staggering £8,500 lower than London.
“We are continuing to forecast rises in average salaries, and a growing gap between London salaries and the rest of the UK.”
