Key personnel changes as REC undergoes major restructuring

After a major review, the Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) is set for a major overhaul.

REC chief executive, Kevin Green, told Recruiter that the changes, which take effect on 4 October, are intended to streamline and simplify the organisation.

“The organisation has grown in a random way, and it was clear that at some point it needed to reinvent itself so it is fit for purpose and in a way that is going to provide value for its members and be as efficient and effective as possible,” says Green.

Four core divisions replace the previous eight, and will be headed by four directors who report directly to Green.

Head of external relations, Tom Hadley, becomes head of a new policy and professional services division. This brings together the REC’s legal team, its standards policy staff and employment relation’s personnel, as well as sector groups.

Ex-marketing director Anita Holbrow will head up a new membership services division, combining sales and marketing, and account management.

A new division covering service delivery to members will be headed by former consultant and commercial director Martin Noble. Noble’s brief covers events and training, compliance and consultancy, the REC’s customer contact centre, its legal helpline and membership.

Finance director David Vallance adds facilities to his portfolio.

Green adds: “The new organisational structure will remove waste and duplication and put the member at the centre of the organisation, so that we can improve the customer experience and make it easier for members to do business with us.”
