John Lewis is on the hunt for store managers and store level staff to fill 3,000 new jobs at 10 new small department stores, according to a spokesperson for John Lewis.

John Lewis announced plans to increase its presence in the UK significantly, with plans for a new, flexible department store concept in locations throughout the country, with shops averaging 65,000-100,000 sq ft. The firm has identified at least 10 locations across the UK that could support these bespoke department stores.

A company spokesperson confirmed to Recruiter that the roles created will be at all levels, from managers to store staff.

“This is a first for the business. While we have our large department stores, we also have our home assortment stores. We are potentially looking at opening our first 10 — we haven’t put a timeframe on that.

“The jobs will be created within those 10 stores. We are not commenting on areas specifically but they will be in areas where we’re not already located - we won’t be duplicating stores but we haven’t identified anywhere else other than Exeter [in the South-West].”
