Employers could cut 350,000 jobs in this financial year, according to new research.

The research, from human resources consultancy Hay Group and the Centre for Economics and Business Research, found that the majority of jobs would go in the construction and property sector.

The estimate came from a survey of 120 bosses presiding over firms with annual sales of £50m or more.
