Russia has maintained its seventh-placed position in global hiring activity and remains among the top three countries in Europe, with only Ukraine ahead.

The ‘Global Snapshot of Hiring and Firing Trends’, a quarterly survey by Antal Russia and Antal International in 47 countries, revealed that 66% of organisations in Russia are currently hiring at managerial level, a 6% decrease from the previous quarter. At the same time, however, a 7% decrease has been reported in attrition rates.

Michael Germerhausen, managing director at Antal Russia, attributes the reduced hiring rate to the “traditional summer slump on the labour market” and to “the fact that companies closed a lot of positions during the post crisis period and are already staffed up”.
