Technical and engineering recruiter CBSbutler has established a base in Cologne and is planning to create three further German offices within the next 12 months.

A spokesperson for the firm tells Recruiter the company will be targeting blue collar manufacturing and engineering jobs with foreign nationals being sourced at a low cost from Eastern European countries.

Managing director David Leyshon says: “With Germany bucking the trend of economic uncertainty, coupled with the reality that its technical sector is lacking some 400,000 skilled workers, the decision to invest was a no brainer.”

Leyshon adds that the relatively low cost of living and relatively high pay makes the country an attractive proposition for migrants.
