Reed set to meet 2008 targets

Professional information provider Reed Elsevier, parent company of Reed Business Information (Caterer & Hotelkeeper, Computer Weekly, Community Care, Personnel Today and job board Totaljobs.com) has announced that it is set to meet 2008 targets in its interim results.

First-half adjusted operating profit rose 12%, at constant currencies, while operating profit adjusted for amortisation, restructuring and integration costs was £557m, with sales rising by 5% at constant currencies to £1.97bn.

Sir Crispin Davis, chief executive officer at Reed Elsevier, said: “We have seen a strong performance across our businesses in the first half despite a more challenging economic backdrop and we remain on track to deliver on our goals this year of good revenue growth, meaningful margin improvement and accelerated earnings growth.”
