Healthcare workers are confident over the industry’s resistance to the recession, according to a report from healthcare jobs site www.emedcareers.com.
The report shows that 51% are confident that pharma will be less affected by the current downturn than other sectors, while 11% predict the industry will be completely unaffected.
Greg Holt, business development director for emedcareers, says: “There have been some big redundancy announcements in the last 12 months, which together have created an impression of an industry shedding jobs – but these haven’t been directly related to the recession. Much of the recent restructuring is due to a prolonged period of change in the industry that pre-dates the downturn.”
