Financial sector firms have put the brakes on hiring and are looking to cut headcount, according to the latest CBI/PwC ‘Financial Services Survey’.

The survey reveals the pace of growth in the UK financial services sector continued to slow in the three months to September.

While numbers employed rose modestly (+5%) but at a far slower rate than expected (+20%) in the coming quarter, firms are expected to reduce headcount (-11%).
