Engineering, IT, medical, commercial and building services recruiter Jenrick CPI has appointed Philip Fanthom as its new managing director.

Fanthom was formerly sales director of the firm’s IT division and takes over from Peter Jezeph who has retired after 25 years with the recruiter.

Fanthom, who has been with the company for 12 years, told Recruiter: “I am delighted. It is a challenge but I relish challenges. It is a good time to get us shipshape and ready for 2010.

“My objective for this year is to develop our core ideology that will underpin everything we do.

“We will continue to try and widen our client base. Historically, we have been strong in three or four vertical markets but the aim over the next six months is to strengthen in 10-12 vertical markets. We will particularly look at the public sector and financial trading. We have had a lot of success in defence and government.”
