Around four in 10 banking professionals say it would be very or fairly easy to land a new role, according to research from eFinancialCareers.com.

The poll of 703 bankers and finance professionals found that nearly 80% had been approached at least once by headhunters since the start of 2010, with 43% saying the number of calls was substantially or moderately higher than in the same period last year.

Of those considering a move, when asked if this would be to a UK based or overseas role, 31% were undecided with 6% saying it would definitely be overseas.

However, 47% said they expected it would be fairly or very hard to find a good new job in their area of specialism.

John Benson, founder and chief executive of eFinancialCareers.com, says: “The fight for talent is back on and financial organisations will have to think hard how they best incentivise key staff to stay given the constraints of the new regulatory environment.”
