The education system is failing children because it doesn't focus on employability, Recruiter's Annual Forum heard, as attendees expressed worries about its effect on the future availability of candidates.
Paul Farrer, CEO of PFJ, said at the Panel Session: "The education system is all wrong, it's not built around employability. We should rip up the curriculum and focus on output."
Andrea Nicol, from Nicol Consultancy, said careers advice to school leavers wasn't good enough, and urged recruiters to do more to help the situation.
