Dhesi adds his talent to the centre of RBS

Banking giant RBS Group has appointed Arvinder Dhesi to the newly-created role of director, group talent.

Dhesi, who will head up the recently-formed Talent Centre of Expertise, will be responsible for driving forward the talent agenda crucial to RBS’s recovery plan, focusing on talent management, executive development including the RBS Business School, employer brand marketing, executive sourcing and support, and supporting organisational culture change. He joins from insurance giant Aviva, where he was the group talent director.

Elaine Arden, RBS Group HR director, said: “There are few more vital areas to RBS’s future than helping us attract, retain, motivate and engage people effectively and well. So I am delighted that Arvi is taking up this important HR leadership role as group talent director.

“We have already undertaken some great work in the talent space recently, including activity to build leadership bench strength and team effectiveness, and develop key skills in strategic risk management, value creation and finance awareness - all of which are crucial to the successful delivery of the RBS strategic plan.”

I know Arvi will build on this [the work already undertaken], and his wealth of experience and knowledge stands him in good stead to lead the new Talent Centre of Expertise and to drive the talent agenda forward for RBS
