Debt fails to deter students from degrees

The prospect of thousands of pounds worth of debt does not put off students from going to university, according to research from PwC.

The prospect of thousands of pounds worth of debt does not put off students from going to university, according to research from PwC.

The poll of first year students at PwC’s Insight Academy, which enables students from to learn from top professional business advisers and recruiters, found that 89% said they did not think twice about going to university despite the level of debt they will accrue.

This, despite 24% imagining they will face a debt of £15 -£20k, while 26% will face over £20k of debt upon graduation, while 96% of students believe that despite the poor job market a degree still makes a difference to their prospects.
