The Chinese operations of Nike and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) have implemented Lumesse’s TalentLink software for its recruitment across Greater China and Asia as a whole.
A team of 11 China-based recruiters for Nike and 18 for GSK will work with the software in the initial phase of implementation.
Rishi Dadlani, Nike’s talent acquisition sourcing manager for Greater China, says: “Demand for the best candidates, which far exceeds supply, is becoming a serious problem in recruitment management in China.
“Our recruiting processes have been working well in recent years, but now with aggressive market growth plans in place, our recruiters absolutely need to deal with and manage a higher and more effective workload.”
Blake Cai, recruitment and HR information systems manager for GSK Greater China, says: “To allow us to manage the China market, the evolution of the HR team into a shared-service unit pairs up recruiters with business managers as close partners.
“Meanwhile we are conscious that this model has to be balanced with stronger centralisation across cities to drive efficiency.”
Lumesse chief executive, Matthew Parker, says of the Nike contract: “China is an absolutely unique market today, with a high growth economy, a shortage of skilled talent, and very specific requirements for languages and local support.”
