IT and engineering recruiter Capital International IT Staffing’s chairman, Ashish Dasgupta, has been awarded an MBE in the Queens 2010 New Year Honours List.

The award recognises Dasgupta for services to healthcare in his capacity as non executive director of the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust with which he has worked for a number of years, following a long period of association with the East Anglian Ambulance Trust.

Dasgupta has worked with Capital since 1998 as a non-executive director moving into his current role as chairman in 2000.

Capital’s chief executive Nick Butcher says: “I am thrilled for Ash.  His commitment and insight into our business is inspiring, and I have no doubt that Cambridge and Peterborough benefit from the same dedication. This is a highly deserved award, and is further evidence of Capital’s good fortune in having Ash as our chairman.”
