Cancer Research UK is increasingly turning to online methods to cut recruitment costs, according to Elizabeth Sideris, Cancer Research UK executive director of human resources.

Sideris told Recruiter: “As a charity, working in the most cost-effective way possible is a key focus for Cancer Research UK. As well as combating the financial pressures through greater use of job boards, we have been highly successful at developing our internal HR talent and using the power of our brand to attract excellent candidates. Over the last 12 months we’ve been able to internally promote into 60% of our open vacancies and have attracted 30% of our external HR candidates through our own networks and careers website.”
