Bursary on offer to fund first recruitment MBA
A bursary worth £3,000 per annum is being offered to help fund a place on the MBA Programme in International Recruitment Management, which admits its first students this September. The MBA programme is a collaboration between the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) and Henley Business School.
Offered by CXC Global, a leading provider of contractor solutions worldwide, the bursary is open to senior candidates who work for SMEs (with a turnover of £25m or less in the most recent financial year). They must be able to demonstrate how they have been helped to introduce management practice, which has benefitted their organisation.
Applicants for the bursary should write a proposal of no more than 500 words outlining why they think they would benefit from the MBA and how they will use the MBA to drive their business forward.
APSCo initiated the concept of an MBA in International Recruitment Management, and the programme is sponsored by Barclays Corporate. Recruiter is proud to be working in association with APSCo and CXC on the bursary competition as part of its own ongoing drive to encourage greater professionalism within the sector.
Michelle Reilly, managing director of CXC Global Europe, described the firm’s offer of a bursary as “a natural step for us. As a company that operates in over 50 countries, the international dimension to the MBA was also very appealing to us”.
Those interested in applying for the bursary should send their entries to [email protected] by 15 August. The winning entry will be published in a future issue of Recruiter.
- The three-year flexible programme will follow the structure and core content of the Henley MBA and in addition include recruitment specific content.
- The programme will be delivered by flexible learning with some residential stays at the school’s Greenlands Campus and will include a one-week international placement. International candidates may be able to be based at Henley’s Hong Kong hub.
- The MBA is open to experienced managers with a degree and at least three years’ managerial experience, or senior managers without a degree and at least five years’ industry experience
- A 10% discount will be available for APSCo members. However, the MBA programme is open to the whole recruitment market.
