Argyll's new Asian move

Middle management recruitment brand Argyll Scott will open an office in Singapore in the first quarter of 2011.

Middle management recruitment brand Argyll Scott will open an office in Singapore in the first quarter of 2011. Marek Dalyluk, previously a director and founding partner of finance and banking recruiter Investigo, will head the new office, where the sector focus will initially be on financial services.

Argyll Scott director John Hunter told Recruiter that Dalyluk will initially work out of the firm’s Hong Kong office and then transfer to Singapore, along with three other staff.

In Asia Pacific, Argyll Scott sees Singapore most closely aligned to the UK market. “London relationships travel most easily there,” Hunter said.

The firm will be taking its search-led approach, using research and referrals to fill vacancies. While the emphasis will be on the middle management arena, Hunter expects executive level placements to offer the firm “a key area of growth”. “The Asian market is less stratified than in London. All of the main players there sort of move up or down the food chain - more than you would in London,” he said.

The Singapore initiative comes on the heels of Argyll Scott’s launch last month of its technology division which joined the existing stable of financial services, finance and legal brands. Argyll Scott is part of the Redgrave Group.
