Stephen Moir, corporate director for people, policy and law at Cambridgeshire County Council has taken on a part time secondment as national adviser: organisational development and transformation with Local Government Improvement and Development formerly known as the IDeA.

The secondment sees Moir involved with the new National Place Based Productivity Programme, focussing on workforce issues from people management and development within councils to programmes such as the People Management Peer Review, support for workforce skills activities and working with central government on issues relating to public sector productivity.

Moir says: “This is fantastic opportunity to use the skills and experience which I have developed throughout my career for the national interest. There will be many challenges ahead as I look to develop various programmes from peer reviews to workforce productivity which will bring about change in Councils throughout the country.
