Employment, payroll, tax, accountancy, administrative support and advice provider the Service Providers Association (SPA) has appointed Stuart Davis as its new chairman.

Davis, who takes up his role this month, will act as the public face and mouthpiece of the SPA, relaying concerns, providing comment and highlighting issues which relate to the professional freelance workforce and the service provider industry through the engagement of key players within both media and government.

Davis is the former managing director of technology staffing firm Yoh Staffing Solutions. He has also worked for TRS Staffing Solutions and as a contracts manager for Adecco firm Roevin Technical People.

Davis says: “I’m delighted to be taking up my new position as chairman of SPA. This year presents a real opportunity for SPA to build upon the excellent work achieved throughout 2009, which saw the launch of a code of conduct welcomed by HMRC.

“Looking forward, we’re keen to continue to increase our membership and cement our position as a body which can offer real insight into a burgeoning industry within a changing political landscape.”
