Almost all students now have a Facebook profile, according to new research from graduate recruitment website Milkround.com.

The survey found that 92% of those polled had a Facebook account, compared with 43% that use MySpace, 38% using Twitter and 25% Bebo and 17% LinkedIn.

The survey also shows that 78% only use their profiles for social networking, while 18% say they use their profiles for both job hunting and socialising.

Elsewhere a survey by research and consultancy specialist CFE shows that 88% of the small and medium sized businesses polled have no plans to recruit during the recession, while 32% of those firms that were not hiring graduates claimed nothing would make them recruit a graduate in the next year and the reason for most was a lack of demand, rather than an inadequate or unsuitable supply of graduates.
