Aker Solutions is seeking experienced engineers as part of its recruitment drive to create 500 new jobs, according to a spokesperson for the international supplier to the oil & gas industry.

The BBC reports the firm will create 500 new jobs over the next year with further major recruitment planned in the coming years.

The spokesperson for the Norwegian firm told Recruitermost roles will go to engineers at all levels, including graduates, but the company will also look for “senior engineers with 20 to 25 years’ experience”.

In addition, the company’s Aberdeen manufacturing plant will look to recruit operators, as well as school leavers with vocational qualifications.

The spokesperson adds recruitment will be mainly run in-house, but with input from Aker’s London-based recruitment subsidiary, Aker Advantage.
